1 Smart Hiking Stick| Designed for Individuals with Visual Impairments

This is a Smart Hiking Stick specifically designed for individuals with visual impairments. It aims at enhancing their mobility and safety. This innovative hiking stick integrates various sensors and technologies to provide real-time environmental feedback, making outdoor activities more accessible and safer.

Equipped with ultrasonic sensors, the stick detects obstacles and delivers haptic feedback through a vibrating handle, alerting users to potential hazards in their path. Additionally, it features GPS functionality, enabling real-time location tracking and navigation assistance. The built-in gyroscope and accelerometer monitor the user's movements, promoting stability and reducing the risk of falls. And, for more general usefulness, it can tell you how far you are from home, send messages, check the time, check the weather, automatically warn you of bad weather, and more.

Overall, donutsorelse's smart hiking stick transforms the traditional hiking experience for visually impaired individuals, empowering them to navigate challenging terrains independently and confidently.

2 Smart Cabinets | Custom your Smart Home

Donutsorelse's Smart Cabinet focuses on creating voice-activated smart cabinets designed to aid mobility-impaired individuals by enhancing kitchen accessibility. The solution involves integrating voice controls and ultrasonic sensors, making it easier to open and close cabinets without manual intervention.

This project centers around using the UNIHIKER to control smart cabinets for enhanced kitchen accessibility. When a trigger word like "butler" is detected, the UNIHIKER sends subsequent commands to a smart home hub, built using the M5Stack CM4Stack Development Kit and ESP32 microcontroller. The hub manages these commands and sends them to the smart cabinets via an MQTT broker.

The cabinets can open or close based on voice commands or proximity detection using ultrasonic sensors. The setup includes integrating servos with the cabinets, which are activated by the UNIHIKER’s voice recognition or proximity triggers, offering different control methods for flexibility and ease of use.

This project aims to create a comprehensive smart kitchen solution that not only helps mobility-impaired individuals with accessibility but also offers a scalable smart home hub setup that can be extended to other devices. The UNIHIKER’s role as the central command unit simplifies voice control integration and removes the need for third-party services, ensuring a seamless and efficient smart home experience.

3 Reaction Test Mini-Game

Tomasz drew inspiration from a YouTuber who visited a Japanese science museum and played a small interactive cognitive game. The game involved using two buttons and two foot pedals, and the player needed to press the corresponding buttons or pedals depending on the visual cues displayed on the screen. Tomasz decided to use UNIHIKER to bring this idea to life.

Project Idea

In his project, symbols for the left foot, right foot, left hand, or right hand will randomly appear on the screen. Sometimes, two, three, or even all four symbols will show up at the same time. react quickly by pressing the correct buttons or stepping on the pedals to match the symbols, testing their reflexes and hand-foot coordination. To make testing easier, he made two button holders and two foot pedals by 3d-printing.

Finally, he also invited his friends to try out this fun game. This project aims to simulate the original game experience while offering a unique and engaging way to assess one's reflexes and reaction time.
