September was full of exciting projects and updates in the UNIHIKER community — let’s check out what happened!
🔧 Product Updates
Here’s an official project to get you started. Using the onboard camera and ESP32-S3 processor, you can train and deploy vision models locally on the board. It’s a great way to learn, experiment, and spark your own creative projects — from recognizing objects to scenes.

🌟 Community Highlights
One maker built a low-cost AI system that predicts air quality from a single photo — entirely on the UNIHIKER K10! This system estimates AQI using images of the sky and surroundings, all running locally on the board with no cloud servers required. The project walks through data collection, model training, deployment, and evaluation. It also explains air quality science and the pollutants affecting our health. Open-source code and datasets are available for everyone.

This project shows how to build a LiDAR monitoring system using the UNIHIKER board and YDLIDAR X2 sensor. The board acts as the main controller and display, showing real-time radar-like scans on its touchscreen, while the compact setup requires no external PC. It’s a great way to explore obstacle detection, indoor mapping, or educational demonstrations of LiDAR technology, providing an interactive and low-cost way to learn Python-based LiDAR visualization on embedded hardware.

The K10 Free Trial is in full swing! Users from Brazil, India, USA, Spain, and more are receiving their boards. Share your latest projects or unboxing pics on social media or in our community — we can’t wait to see them!
